Candidates should have a weighted average mark of at least 70 for the pass degree. Before applying candidates should have an approved thesis topic and supervisor. The supervisor must be from our academic staff. We invite candidates to discuss their plans with a relevant staff member.

The Economics (Honours) program provides undergraduate students with an extra year of high quality study to enhance their applied and analytical skills and knowledge of current economic research literature, and provide training in research methods in the school.

The Bachelor of Environmental Systems (Honours) comprehensively examines both natural and agricultural systems. The Honours program offers graduates an introduction to health-specific research. The program consists of a literature review, oral presentation, a course on thesis preparation and the research thesis itself.

Students need to have obtained results with an average of 70% or above in eight Senior units of study (48 credit points) in the subject in they wish to take Honours. Some departments and programs have additional prerequisites, including advanced Senior units designed to prepare students for the challenges of fourth-year study. Please consult with the department’s Honours Coordinator as you plan what units to take during your undergraduate degree.
The Bachelor of International and Global Studies (Honours) is an intensive year-long program of advanced study with research at its centre. Students take seminar classes and research and write a substantial thesis on a topic they work out in collaboration with a supervisor who is a specialist in the relevant field.
